City in the Sun exhibited contemporary artist's responses to Brisbane's historical colonial aims to construct a subtropical identity for the city. The exhibition presented contemporary artworks alongside historical imagery, featuring newly commissioned works by Holly Anderson, Christopher Bassi, Rachel Burke, Kinly Grey, Sebastian Moody, Laura Patterson, Rachael Sarra and Samuel Tupou alongside works by Richard Bell, Sam Cranstoun, Tracey Moffatt, Gerwyn Davies, Easton Pearson, Scott Redford, Luke Roberts, Elizabeth Willing, Olive Ashworth, Michael Cook, Tori-Jay Mordey, Holly Neilson and Michael Zavros.
